First things first, I hope everyone had an awesome and safe Christmas. Also I’d love to hear what your favourite Christmas presents were *grin*
- The cover pages by Keary
- A cleaned up document from Hitch at Booknook.com – who spent all of 5mins after receiving a few too many infuriating questions (sorry!) from moi as I struggled with formatting The Arrival.
Both presents literally made me hop around with joy *grin*
And I guess my other favourite present would be a smooth Christmas day!! That’s right – no squabbles what-so-ever. Must be a world record (at least for our families ;p). Due to the not so great year financially we just did pressies for the niece and nephew which probably helped reduce the arguments this year *lol*
Anyway back to the title of this post. I’m feeling a bit lost right now. Why? Well that would be because The Arrival is now in the hands of Smashwords and Amazon and ticking through their system to publication.
Yep that’s right.
Now I feel strangely lost. For the last eighteen months The Arrival has been my baby and now it’s done….
I’m actually allowed now to start planning book two…
Actually I think I’m still very sleep deprived. Since I finished work on the 22nd I’ve been up till 1-2am every morning working on formatting (yep that includes Christmas morning). I don’t think I’ve had such a frustrating experience before! It’s annoyed me that much that I’m going to add an extra page to this blog and title it formatting for dummies *grin* cause most the ‘helpful’ sites I read went straight over my head ;p I’m also going to make a ‘clean’ starting document available for download for those going through this process.
Seriously I had no idea that wanting each chapter to start on a new page would be such a headache! But it’s done and looks pretty darn good so I’ll just chew the remainders of my nails off until the reviews come through ;p Ahh such joy! Must scoot, have to go buy more headache pills from supermarket *bleah* And then start plotting book two!! YAYAYAYAYAY! Finally ;p
