Isn’t she pretty!

July 19, 2010 by Nicole 13 Comments

Look at this!  This is the beautiful orchid that was flowering when my Nana gave it to me 5 years ago and then refused to flower since… Until now!  We moved in December and I think it loves the new place – especially the conservatory.  I’m not sure what to be more excited about – that it’s flowering or that its survived 5 years with me ; p I’d love green fingers but they seem to have evaded me.  Normally I’m just happy the plants are still alive, but one actually flowering!! Big news for me *grin*

Wowza it's fantastic Nicole!!! Certainly beautiful, I too don't have a green thumb, but I think you've washed away your bad vibes and look at that flower now… you certainly have a green thumb, or a green thumb fairy. How fun!

That's lovely! I planted bulbs (about that color) in the back yard several years ago. They NORMALLY come up in March/April but not this year. So it was with much shock that we saw the suckers had sprouted up almost 3 feet AND bloomed over the course of this last weekend. If I'd been watching, I should have been able to see the buggers growing!
