No not devious crafty! Creative crafty. Why? My mum really loves a handbag I brought from a fair and as I wasn’t able to buy her a present (that whole no work thing…) I decided to have a hunt for a pattern that would work. And I came across this site U-handbag owned by the lovely Lisa who makes and sells both handbags and patterns.
This is a gorgeous and totally drool-worthy site – at least for those of us addicted to adorable bags *grin*. On it I found a FREE (yep free) pattern for the ‘love bucket’ which is exactly the style I wanted! I have to get some bits and pieces to make the bag but I think the hardest decision will be the fabric. I love the examples Lisa has on her site and I’m thinking I might have to make a few more of these bags as fabulous pressies. Once mum’s is complete of course ; p
So my mind’s been fixed on gorgeous fabrics/pictures and designs and then at lunchtime today I came across an outstanding artist (in my humble opinion) selling her wares. Unfortunately I have a lack of spare cash at the moment so could only admire. Beautiful postcards of my absolute favourite orchids, those divine Moth orchids (no I don’t know their botanical name). I snagged a card from the artist and then had a squizz at her blog True Orchid and WOW is she good! I actually thought the two pics of ‘Raven’ at the bottom of her blog were the photo and the painting. It wasn’t till I read the caption that I clicked both were paintings. Very impressed!
I do realize that this blog is meant to be following my writing but part of what inspires me is beautiful things. For this reason I do follow quite a few ‘Crafty’ blogs and I want to thank them for their inspiration with this gorgeous little award. I’m awarding it to the following blogs.
The only requirements of this award is to proudly display it on your blog *grin* link it back to the person you received it from and award it to three blogs that inspire you. If anyone else would like to award this to someone feel free to take it! Everyone who creates beautiful things deserves to know that others think their work is inspirational.

what a lovely idea Nicole!
Thanks K 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog Nicole!…And I'm so glad that I clicked over to yours- you have the greatest blog name ever.
I get an urge to be crafty about once a year–usually a sewing/knitting/crocheting project. I hope that your project turns out great!
Thank you for checking out my blog. I hope to be posting more explanations of each rule. I have another blog called simpledykie.blogspot.com. I actually write(though mostly humor) I'm trying to self publish with a printing company. Your site is very good. I especially like the pictures. I'll keep checking back in. Good luck with your writing.
Thank you for the handbag link. I can't wait to share it with my daughters.
Happy Day
Thanks for the handbag link. I'm a sewer.
I'll bet your mom will love her bag! I wish I were more crafty. Sigh.
I got to pick fabric for a bag at 1154 Lill Studio on Newbury Street in Boston. I've made two bags. So much fun. Though not cheap, so I did it when I received gift certificates.
I'm glad you all like the post! @ Lisa & Patrick – you're welcome 😉 looking forward to your next posts.
Hi Grace, I hope your daughter loves it 🙂
Hi Theresa 🙂 I'd love it if someone got me vouchers for a craft shop, hasn't occurred to anyone yet ;p
And Angie – then I might add you to the list of bags I'm making as pressies *grin*
Wow, what a great blog. I just stopped by, but then I decided to follow you too. The name "Damsel in a dirty dress" suddenly gave me a fantasy short story idea.
Anyway, I'm an aspiring writer with my own blog. How about checking it out and follow it if you like it
Hi John 🙂 I'm glad it inspired thought! However if you steal the name I will hunt you down and sue you! *hee* okay kidding – well partially *grin* I had a look at your blog identity but couldn't see a blog of your own?? Little hard to follow you ;p
