Do you have certain scents for each season? I do and I got the best scent of summer today. A parcel I ordered from Kereru Natural Products arrived today and as soon as I smelled it I was transported to summer.
It’s early February (NZ’s summer) and we’ve just arrived at the Martinbourgh Fair. We’ve been up for a good hour and a half and just driven over the windy and treacherous Rimutaka Hills (okay so I’m amping it up a bit *grin*). The stall holders have finished setting up and the air has that wonderful crisp damp scent. It’s about seven am – we are really early but this way we beat the crowd and the heat.
We set off from a side street, carefully remembering which stalls are there so we don’t forget when we’re ready to go. I get assigned the backpack as lets face it most the purchases will be mine *grin*. We wander past hundreds of stalls. All with fabulous products.
And then there is the Kereru stand. It smells divine – the small stall is sheltered by a tiny gazebo style tent and its shelves are smothered in products.
Essential oils, fragrance oils, rich creams, bath bombs, scented candles and lip salves – they have more but I can’t remember.
I realize this sounds a lot like any other product but I can honestly say that once you’ve tried their products you will NEVER use anything else. Their Rosehip oil is incredible and I love the massage oils they make. I use them during Winter as a moisturizer after my showers and my skin is phenomenal for it.
Having a total rave I know but this parcel has just made my day! Oooh and included in it is a lip salve for the lucky winner of my 500 followers competition *grin* so the loot for the prize is now

this is one of the clay flowers – even when you touch it it still feels real – I want one!!
handmade jewellery with glass beads
Beautiful handmade silk purses
I don’t agree with taking dogs to the fair (it’s VERY crowded) but this cutie was such a photo op 🙂
And these are actually soaps!

Those soaps look divine! And edible!
My scent for summer would have to be the beach. I know. Cliche. But it never fails to herald summer for me. That and sunscreen.
Very cool Nicole. I'll let others know about your contest. I love the soap and the flower. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

love those cupcake soaps! I wonder how many people try to eat them?
The clay flower is amazing–I need one! It's the only plant I wouldn't risk killing!
oh bummer the soap looks yummy
OH- that place sounds fun. I am with Joanna- cupcakes looked good : )
Hi everyone 🙂
Don't the soaps look great! There was actually an even more drool worthy stand but I couldn't find the photos *pout* A young Asian girl had made magnets that looked so much like buterfly cakes, truffles, chocolates etc that she had to put a sign up saying 'not edible'. There were a lot of disappointed people *hee* And the clay flowers were just stunning but pricey! You can see a ton of work goes into them but at $200 a plant I'd have blown my whole fair budget…*sigh* bring on lotto!
Oh yeah, my kids would totally eat the soap.
Awesome.
I cannot believe that isn't a real flower! Amazing. Also, those soaps have made me desperate for cupcakes. They look so real!
Wow, cool stuff for your contest and I love that clay flower. Can't wait for your contest.
OMGoodness! I want one of those cupcake soaps for my office!!! Wow, the plant was $200!
It looks like you had a lot of fun. I hope you got lots of goodies. 🙂
I thin those soaps are so cool!! Enjoy your day!
I love the clay flower and soap cupcakes! Great pics!
