We got the stove up the bush! After all the worrying and stressing it is now done and Dad is working on the pipes for the wet back as we speak (or so I imagine…). It was a drive-in weekend last weekend for the road maintenance of the 4×4 road. So there where lots of guys who after they’d done all the work on the road came over to our hut to get the stove sorted.
Dad lashed two big poles to the stove so it was (relatively) easy to get a grip and off they went! It only took about 15min in total and was done nice and smooth with no problems (v. minor hitch when a wee dog decided to walk underneath it *rollseyes* cue frantic yell from one of the guys ‘DON’T PUT THE STOVE DOWN – THE DOGS UNDERNEATH!!’).
I filmed the whole thing and created this nifty little video from it *grin* and yes I may have played with it a little *hee* you won’t know till you watch though!

Yay for the doggies not getting squashed! 🙂
Congratulations with your stove!! Victory indeed!
I'll watch the clip once I'm not at work! LOL! Take care
x
That was so neat to watch. Love manly men! And the music was perfect.
Good call warning them not to squash the dog. 🙂
Yay for teamwork! Yay for un-squished doggies too. 🙂
Hooray for the victory! 🙂 And that no doggies were squashed in the process . . . LOL.
hahaha you are too funny! Congrats
That thing looked so heavy! I'm glad no one lost any toes along the way.
😉
Great video! What a cool spot!
Glad you guys enjoyed it 🙂 I just heard from dad that its all put together and just needs to be lit! *grin*
love the added music 🙂 and it was rather amusing seeing the dog getting a lift!
Very cool community effort, but I am curious, why not just get an ATV with a trailer hitch? Even a horse with a litter. I use to live in a rual area and still have that thought process sometimes.
Hi SH – we couldn't use an ATV cause the track isn't wide enough and while it mightn't look it in the video the track is VERY craggy with roots n stuff. And yes a horse might have been an idea but DOC would have had a fit if we did ;p
Gosh it looked heavy! I'm glad no one was injured.
