And a sobering moment

March 3, 2011 by Nicole 10 Comments

Remember how I said the stairwell at our Christchurch branch collapsed in the earthquake?  Here’s a shot of it..

Funnily enough Nat and Ems are refusing to do the stair-training anymore *sigh* I’m just working on the ‘get out NOW’ theory.  We were told that each flight of stairs weighed around 10 tonnes and there were 20 flights.  And no I did not mess those amounts up.  That must have been one hell of a scary sound.  Search teams do actually have to look through these for missing people.
Insane.

P.s – there actually is a new post below this one with writing tips I just got sent this pic after I posted it.

earthquakes are a very scary thing to go through even when they are small ones that make the plates fall out the cupboard. I just simply can't imagine how the people coped with the Christchurch one. SOOOO scary.

The worst part is how long they are. one minute doesn't seem like a long time, but it certainly IS.

    shudders

oh a slightly happier note, have you changed the background to the blog again? looks good!

Oh wow! That would be terrifying. I once heard the roof collapse in the hallway of an apartment building and that was scary, I can't even imagine what that sounded like.

I can't imagine how scary an earthquake would be! Pretty sure I would lose it.
