Deepest sympathies for Japan and all those living there

March 11, 2011 by Nicole 14 Comments

8000 times stronger than the earthquake Christchurch experienced.
8000X STRONGER!?!
Watching the footage last night was heart-rendingly familiar and far FAR more scary!  It just seems so wrong for it to happen!  Japan sent search teams to help us and I know our teams will want to help them  – I’ve taken down the fund for the Chch earthquake and am googling how to help Japan.  Gd my hands are shaking from watching those videos.  The largest earthquake in their recorded history and then a monster tsunami.  I’m beginning to think all of us seated on the ring of fire should move – like NOW.
My heart and thoughts are with you Japan, and we here in NZ will help in whatever way we can.  You were there for us in our time of need and we will be there for you.

It's awful!!! Awful! I've stopped watching the news now cos the pics and the devastation are just terrible. I think the red cross are setting up an appeal for Japan.

Take care and have a peaceful weekend. xx

Unbelievable. So many natural disasters in recent times. So much loss of lives. So much dislocation. Sad.

The footage we're seeing in incredible and terrifying. It looks more like a science fiction movie set than reality. I wish it were so.

Words really have failed me – just couldn't get my head around this. We got the tsunami warning last night for here – so relieved it didn't materialise.

Thinking of everyone in Japan and everyone here, including friends, with family and friends in Japan.

That was a nice post and It is so sad and scary, I was thinking that too about the Ring of Fire. It scares me probably because I don't understand it. I cried all morning for all those people. I'm afraid to watch the TV to see what more is happening.
    Stay safe my friend.

It is a very tragic event. My heart and prayers go out to everyone involved. The news was just so graphic there was just really no way to grasp the total devastation that happened in seconds.

I don't think we have seen these kinds of earthquakes either. I remember hearing how a 5.0 quake was bad. Now we have 8. plus quakes. I wish I wasn't so broke.

The Pacific Ring of Fire is certainly living up to its name. I wish it would go back to sleep. I pray for all those who have been devastated and/or injured. Life is so fragile and precious. We often take it for granted. Love your blog, Roland

My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Japan and their family members around the world who are worried about them and perhaps unable to contact them.

Ack…My brother in law is stationed in that country, same wit his wife and kid. One of my teachers is from there and probably knows people involved. I just hope nothing else goes wrong. Definitely lots of prayers.
