Working on scenes, have a look at the current inspiration

July 15, 2011 by Nicole 6 Comments

I LOVE Elfwood! A site where anyone who’s so inclined can post their artwork and I so often find fantastic inspiration there. Have a look at my current inspiration – I’d love to hear your thoughts : )

The above pic is by a fav artist of mine on Elfwood, his stuff is ridiculous fun ;p

Take care all!

Just a practical thought about centaurs …

Wouldn't their heads need to be more in the center of their backs so they would be balanced, and not in danger of toppling over head-over-heels with all that extra upper-body weight? …

I guess that's why all the lady centaurs have that breasts-thrust-forward-shoulders-back look eh? Nothing to do with objectification at all! Same goes for the guy centaurs – it can't be good for the spine.

If you like using art as inspiration you should check out gfxartist.com. There is some amazing stuff on there, especially in the Elite galleries. I love this pic which reminds me of my MC's love interest.

What a cool site! I'd never been there before, and I'm so glad to know about it. Some very inspiring stuff over at Elfwood.

Hi Trisha – it really is, has helped so much with my ideas!

Hi Widdershins – had a good chuckle at your comment, I do the same thing when thinking through creatures. My theory with centaurs is that they're their own unique species on Sytas… and the rest I'll figure out as I go along *grin*

Hi Sari – thanks for the suggestions!! I'l duck over there shortly

Hi Julie -it is amazing what you can find there 🙂

Wow – I've learned about two sites where I can drool. Of the pictures you posted (I love them all), I was most drawn to the warrior centaur. Maybe it's the bold strokes, but it felt both Knightly and Pagan. Very inspiring!

BTW, I found you through CJ Duggan's blog.
    Cheers,
    Ellen
