Crazy Beautiful

August 15, 2011 by Nicole 7 Comments

It’s snowing in Wellington – even the CBD. The first time I’ve ever seen it like this and the first time many have seen it like this. It’s also my first time in ‘proper’ snow *grin* There have been thunderclaps and lightning flashes as well and two power cuts!! Absolutely crazy. Here are some pics and I’ll keep it short before we lose power again : )

Not impressive to those who get snow I’m sure, but if you consider that we’re getting snow flurries in Auckland, something that was last recorded in 1930 you might get an idea of how WOW this is to us right now *grin*
Take care all!

AHHHHHH! Stop talking about snow! Please, I beg of you! I still have a few months of green before I get hit with that evil white stuff.

Right now, I miss winter . . . a little, since it's been hot here. I'm still glad there are a couple more months until the cold really sets in though. 🙂

When I left OZ I'd only ever seen snow in a few little flurries … Imagine my surprise and total GLEE at seeing meters of the stuff!!!!!

My friends here still think I'm nuts running around shouting, "Snow! Snow!"

It's even worse now, we just made it home, they were in the midst of closing the only road into our valley as we inched by them. It's quite possible I'll be having a snow day tomorrow ;p

Really nice photos. I especially like that one of the city. The snow man grabbed my attention too!
