As I’ve mentioned I’m now proofing and editing my work again but this time on an actual hard copy! Very exciting *lol* It’s the first time I’ve read it on paper and the difference is surprisingly huge.
So what’s so different? Now it actually ‘feels’ like a book and it’s easier to read (no I don’t own an IPad or Kindle). I can read it anywhere without needing to lug around my battered Toshiba (which, while top of the range in 2002 is now considered archaic – and heavy). Although unlike my trusty Toshiba it doesn’t have a back light making it hard to read on the way home – winter in NZ right now and it means we drive home in the dark.
It seems so much easier to get the flow when it’s in paper, and mistakes stand out more (it’s covered in red marks, highlighted sections and post-its at the moment) which is awesome as it feels like I might actually be done with this at the end!
Well we’ll see anyway (fingers crossed).
Do you find it easier in hard copy? Or is it soft copy all the way?
